He-Man in the flesh: a huge blockbuster could be produced at Amazon
The idea would be to produce a big-budget fantasy film while riding on Mattel’s other star doll.
There will be a film Masters of the Universe in live action. Except that it won’t be on Netflix, but on Prime Video.
While the first mentioned abandoned the project midway at the start of the year, it is Amazon which plans to take over production on its own. Amazon MGM Studios is in “ advanced talks » to bring life to He-Man and to the vision of the Nee brothers. Kyle Allen should still play the lead role of He-Man.
It should be remembered that this live Netflix adaptation of Masters of the Universe was well underway when it was stopped. 30 million dollars had already been spent in the early stages of development, including an already substantial advance for the director duo Adam and Aaron Nee and the actor Kyle Allen.

It must be remembered that He-Man is a Mattel toy… like barbie, which grossed $1.4 billion in theaters. So, the idea would be to make more than a streaming film. Mattel producer Todd Black is pushing for Masters of the Universe is entitled to wide distribution in cinemas.
This was not the case in the original Netflix deal. The streamer reportedly dropped the project due to the film’s budget, which is expected to be around $200 million.
