Henry Cavill and his Argylle haircut: “I wanted to have fun with it”
After the “mustachegate” of Mission: Impossible/Justice League, the star sports a surprising new look.
After his spy roles in Very Special Agents: UNCLE Codethen in Mission Impossible: Fallout, Henry Cavill returns to service in Argylethe new action comedy from Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman, Kick-Ass). He plays the attractive Agent Argylle, a fictional character in a series of best-selling spy novels created by Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howards). When real spies begin to attack Elly because of top secret information hidden in her books, the agent charged with protecting her turns out to be the complete opposite of her star character. This is Aiden Wilde (Sam Rockwell), bearded and neglected who will have to protect the novelist and help her get out of this bad situation.
In an interview given to Entertainment Weekly, Henry Cavill details the making of the train action scene, of which the trailer shows us a few seconds. We see Sam Rockwell to present oneself to Bryce Dallas Howard like a fan of his books before suddenly killing all the other passengers who turn out to be enemy agents. Cavill reveals that in the film, Elly’s character imagines being rescued by Argylle instead of Aiden. Henry Cavill And Sam Rockwell had to learn the same movements so that the montage could show them successively doing the same actions.

“Sam and I were looking at each other and just trying to make sure our movements were similar. Certain moves worked better for him, so I would copy them, and then different moves in other places worked better for me, so he would copy them. The fight scenes are tricky and complex, especially in a cramped space like this with many hard edges” explains the star. Especially since the two actors do not have the same body shape at all, hence the importance of adapting to what is easiest for each of them.
“It’s pretty cool to do these things when someone is doing the exact same job as you. So I do my part, or Sam does his thing, and the other one rests. The camera moves forward and we take a nice break. It was a whole new way of doing things, but I enjoyed it. It was a good challenge” tell Henry Cavill.
He also talks about his new haircut, which contrasts with his usual looks: “I wanted to have fun with it. Matthew said: ‘Look, this guy is going to have a special look and you have to trust me.’ And I did it! That’s the kind of thing I was looking for. I’m glad I did it.”
A new look that gets people talking, six years after the famous “mustachegate” of Justice Leaguewhen he was forbidden to shave for the reshoots of the Warner Bros blockbuster, because of the parallel conception of Mission: Impossible 6 by Paramount.
Dua Lipa, John Cena, Brian Cranston And Samuel Jackson will also be there. Argyle will be released in cinemas on January 31, 2024.
