Hollywood prepares a remake of Drunk, directed by Chris Rock
The Danish film by Thomas Vinterberg, starring Mads Mikkelsen, will soon have its American version.
Oscar and César for best foreign film, passed by the Cannes Film Festival, Drunk remains one of the notable films of the year 2020. So much so that the black comedy of Thomas Vinterberg is going to be remade in Hollywood.
Chris Rock has reached an agreement to develop and produce this American version of the Danish film. It will notably be produced by Appian Way and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Screenwriter Stuart Bloomberg wrote a draft script and a new writer will now take the screenplay to refine it with the help of Chris Rock.
The comedian has already directed three feature films. The last, Top Fivedates back to 2014. According to Deadline, getting back behind the camera has become his priority.
It remains to be seen who will be able to take over the role of Mads Mikkelsenso perfect in the shoes of this depressed teacher, who decides to follow an old precept: you can only be totally happy in life with a level of 0.5 g of alcohol per liter of blood, permanently.. .
