Hugh Grant becomes Kellogg's Frosties: trailer for Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Epic

Netflix is having a blast revolutionizing breakfast in this film inspired by the real American societal upheaval of the 1960s.

In 1963, Kellogg's and Post competed for the cereal monopoly by reinventing breakfast. Why not include a pastry consistent with this special time of the day? The two companies clash, their ambitions collide to the point of betrayal…

This story that wants to tell Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Epic, for which Netflix has just revealed the trailer. A surprising video starting to the rhythm of a spoken meter, explicitly recalling the takeoff of a rocket on its way to space. Yes, because the creation of Pop-Tarts is “One small step for man, one big step for humanity.” (Neil Armstrong). In any case, this is what I am trying to convey to us in this new project, which recalls the phenomenon barbie of Greta Gerwigwith its fanciful colorimetry.

Only here, it is not a rocket but the ejection of a Pop-Tart cooked in the heat of a toaster. This sweet, well known in English-speaking countries, is now exported all over the world. It must be said that it raised blood sugar levels in American cottages during its peak in the sixties.

This film is written and directed by Jerry Seinfeldwho also plays the role of Bob Cabana alongside Melissa McCarthy in the shoes of Donna Stankowski, chief architect of Pop-Tart. Far from conquering space, the two companies Post and Kellogg's will redouble their efforts to reach first position in this frenetic race.

The trailer is peppered with cameos, notably with Hugh Grant in the Kellogg's Frosties mascot costume. There is also Amy Schumer, Peter Dinklage, Christian Slater, Jack McBrayer Or Bobby Moynihan as Chief Boyardee and James Marsden (X-Men, Sonic the Movie) in the shoes of Jack LaLanne.

The film was shot by Bill Popethe legendary cinematographer behind Darkman, Matrix And Spider-Man 2.

Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Epic will take off to Netflix on May 3, 2024.

After Jack Reacher, Alan Ritchson will be a war machine for Netflix
