“I won’t be able to come back to Yellowstone,” Kevin Costner announces in video

The Dutton family will say goodbye on Paramount + next November, but without their patriarch, therefore.

Paramount has just announced it, the finale of Yellowstone will be broadcast from November 10 in the United States (and later in the month in France), almost two years to the day after the broadcast of the first part of this season 5. A final part disrupted by the writers’ strikes , and above all, by the departure of Kevin Costnerwho played the patriarch of the family that owns the largest ranch in Montana.

A few days ago, Kevin Costner, now absorbed in his project Horizon: An American Sagaa western fresco in four chapters, took the time to confide his desire to return in the second part of season 5 of Yellowstone. However, while fans of the series have finally learned the long-awaited broadcast date, the information is accompanied by sad news. No, Kevin Costner will not return for the Paramount series finale.

Kevin Costner made this announcement himself in a video published on Instagram. In caption: “Friends, here’s an update for you. See you again in the cinemas”.

It is in front of the camera that the actor-director rips off the bandage:

“I want to let you know that after this long year and a half spent working on Horizon and to think about Yellowstone, this series that I love and that I know you love, I just realized that I will not be able to return either in the second part of season 5, or after. It was an experience that really impacted me. I loved being on the show, and I know you loved it too. I just wanted to tell you that I won’t be coming back, but that I love the relationship that we were able to develop, and that I will see you again in the cinema.”

A clear and concise message, which goes straight to the point, but does not explain the precise reasons which motivated Kevin Costner and Taylor Sheridan (the creator of the series), to make the decision to truly end their collaboration, even if many rumors are circulating.

The first four seasons of Yellowstone, with Kevin Costner, can be (re)discovered on Paramount +. The last six episodes will be broadcast on the platform in mid-November. In the meantime, as Kevin Costner himself says, we can find him on the big screen from July 3 in the first chapter ofHorizonthen September 11 for the second.

Yellowstone will have “the best finale in the history of the series”
