It’s official: the Green Lanterns will return to service

Damon Lindelof’s series has just been ordered by Max and HBO.

“In broad daylight or in the dark of night, no evil escapes my gaze…” THE Green Lanterns will return to our screens, in a brand new version which will have nothing to do with the 2011 film which almost killed Ryan Reynolds’ career. Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that HBO, in association with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios have just officially ordered the series Lanterns.

It will consist of eight episodes and production will soon begin.

“The series follows new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark Earth mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland,” can we read in the synopsis.

The shiny Damon Lindeloff (The Leftovers, Watchmen) will write the series with Chris Mundy (Ozark), who will be showrunner.

No casting information has been announced at this time.

Series Lanterns will be broadcast on Max in France.
