“It’s the final timeline”: The Umbrella Academy is back for one last mission (trailer)

The Hargreeves family siblings have their power back and it's crazy.

It's been two years since the last episode of The Umbrella Academy aired leaving fans with an unbearable cliffhanger. Alison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), who had made a pact with Reginald Hargreeves, the adoptive father of the fraternity to find her husband and daughter, had finally changed her mind seeing the suffering of her brothers and sisters. The launched time machine transported the protagonists to another world where they no longer have any power. No more seeing Luther and his gorilla build, Five and his teleportation, Ben (Justin H.Min) and his tentacles, or even Diego unbeatable in knife throwing.

Season 3 therefore ended with the farewells of the survivors of the Umbrella Academy and the Sparrow Academy at the square of the Hotel Oblivion going their separate ways – simple mortals that they have become. But will they be able to lead a normal life? With this dysfunctional family, temporal chaos is never far away…

Umbrella Academy: what could happen in season 4 after the final twist of season 3

“Expect nothing and you will have everything”said Robert Sheehan the interpreter of Klaus in a promotional video released some time after the start of filming. This fourth and final season was sold as crazier, mixing sweetness and bitterness. Suffice to say that this is exactly what emerges from the very first trailer shared today by Netflix.

“We are back !”
In the first part, while we hear Reginald's introductory speech previously said in the first moments of season 1, we see the characters where we left them. Each leading his life on his own: Luther (Tom Hopper) is back as astronaut, Viktor (Elliot Page) appears to be bartender and Diego (David Castaneda) is having fun at his child's birthday party that he had with Lila (Ritu Arya) at his birthday party. But you don't have to wait very long for their powers to return. They are back for their first rescue mission. But who should they rescue? The trailer doesn't tell us more, but we can imagine that it is Sloane, Luther's wife from Sparrow Academy and who had mysteriously disappeared.

The anthem of the 80s “It's the final countdown” from the Swedish group Europe punctuates the second part of the trailer where we can see an anomaly in a subway – which makes the link with the New York subway-style posters with routes drawn to help us find ourselves among everyone these jumps in time.

Reginald appears as the main antagonist with new enemies, including a heavily armed Santa Claus. Also visible, a strange dance scene which, we hope, will become as legendary as the one with “Footloose” in the first episode of season 3.

Crazier, more humor, fights and also emotion – we see Lila crying in Five's arms (Aidan Gallagher), perhaps for the death of a loved one, that of Diego? – this final season still has plenty of surprises in store for us, like this mysterious tattoo of the Umbrella Academy upside down as well as the introduction of the Keepers, this clandestine group who think that the reality in which they live is a lie and only retaliation are approaching.

In the casting, we will find new faces: Nick Offerman And Megan Mullaly, in the role of two professors from New Mexico, and David Cross, a boss and father who is desperately trying to reconnect with his daughter.

For the last time, the Hargreeves family will ensure that the end of the world does not come tomorrow (or yesterday, depending on the timeline). The final season will therefore be released on August 8 on Netflix and will have six episodes.
