Jonathan Cohen sings François Sentinelle: the fantastic clip of “Do you regret?”

The most beautiful lyrics in the history of French song.

Will this be the surprise hit of the summer? In any case, a month before the film’s release on Prime Video, Amazon decided to upload the clip for “Do you regret it?”, the song from the film. Sentinel written and performed by a jonathan cohen more inhabited than ever!

Alone on the beach, he sings about his breakup with as much passion as François Valéry… In his autobiography, Francis Sentinel said of himself: “M.life is music. From morning to night, I only think about that, I do only that. Nothing else interests me. Nothing. Absolutely nothing”underlines Amazon, which specifies that “these remarks may have been confusing, knowing that Francis Sentinel is also a police captain in one of the most dangerous cities in France…”

The film Sentinel will indeed follow this policeman who “leads a double life. During the day, he is the most media-friendly cop on Reunion Island, known for his tough methods and his flowery shirts. But outside working hours (and very often during), Sentinelle has another job: charming singer.

Francis Sentinel had great success before entering law enforcement, “the Kiki”, “a saucy hit with tropical flavors that he has since denied, he has experimented with all styles, from variety to opera (“Operation Opera”) via hip-hop (“Suprême Sentinelle”), rock (“Sentinelle Electrique”), raï (“Couscous Sentinelle”) or experimental music (“Sentinelle: abstraction X”). In 2023, he returns with “Tout simples Sentinelle”, a calmer album, a return to basics, to melody, text, voice.”

“Are you sorry?” (composed by David Caviglioli & Hervé Rakotofiringa) is the first single from this new album “If I had to do it all over again / I would do it all again / But everything I’ve done, I’d change it / Without changing anything in my life / I’ll stay who I am / While being different / Without changing anything / But while changing completely…”

Co-directed by Hugo Benamozig and David Caviglioli, the film will also bring together Raphaël Quenard, Emmanuelle Bercot, Gustave Kervern and Ramzy Bedia. Sentinel will be released on September 8 for streaming on Prime Video.
