“He took them, and he had a great birthday!” laughs the actor.

In a recent episode of the podcast Inside of You orchestrated by Michael Rosenbaumknown for his role as Lex Luthor in the series SmallvilleHollywood actor Keanu Reeves told an anecdote that was delightful to say the least. Keanu Reeves refused to insult Winona Ryder on the set of Dracula

“I heard it was his birthday, so I brought him some mushrooms (hallucinogens). He took them, and he had a great birthday!”said the actor, laughing.

The performance of Keanu Reeves in the adaptation had not convinced the public at the time. The British accent that he persisted in honoring was not unanimous. Francis Ford Coppola had justified his actor’s poor performance by the perfectionism he generally imposed on the set.

“It was really difficult for him to do the English accent. He tried so hard. That was the problem, he wanted to do it perfectly, and it came out stilted. I tried to get him to to relax, and not do it in such a tedious way (…) To this day, he is a prince in my eyes”, had entrusted the director to Entertainment Weekly in 2015.

The tensions, previously told by Reeves or his playing partner Winona Ryder, were visibly able to calm down around a hallucinogenic birthday.
