During a court hearing for his ongoing divorce, the actor recounted his differences with the production.

The defection of Kevin Costner from the ranch of Yellowstone surprised everyone. Especially since the actor didn’t really speak to explain his decision to quit. And it took a public hearing in court for the star to speak out on the subject.

This Friday, Kevin Costner testified at a hearing related to his divorce from Christine Baumgartner. At the bar, he clarified his current situation, particularly on a financial level, thus justifying his departure from Yellowstone. He confides that he really wanted to sign for a 6th season, but “I couldn’t help them anymore actually. We tried to negotiate, but they offered me less money than in previous seasons” he said according to People magazine. He also mentioned “problems at the creative level.

The director and actor also admitted that his feature film Horizonwhich he will direct and in which he will play, posed a problem: the production having cut the fifth season of Yellowstone in two parts, the filming of his film was disrupted. “This series that I filmed once a year, I now did twice. I was supposed to shoot Horizon between the two parts of season 5, but we didn’t finish part 1 on time. And no script was released. been written for the second half either…”

Moreover, Kevin Costner hasn’t been paid for this part 2 yet and he’s already talking about taking legal action against the production.

In any case, Yellowstone will end and John Dutton will therefore finish his story at the end of season 5, on Paramount Plus. The date is still unknown.
