Léa Seydoux recounts the voice message Gaspard Ulliel left her before her accident

If the film The beastreleased earlier this year, is dedicated to Gaspard ulliel, it's for good reason. The award-winning actor, who tragically died in a ski accident on January 19, 2022, was to play the main role alongside his lifelong friend Léa Seydoux. This would have been their third collaboration and the return of the trio Seydoux, Ulliel and Bonello since Saint Laurent (2014).
For Indiewirethe actress recounts her last memory of her playing partner.
“The last message I had from him, the last time I heard his voice, was after France, the film I made with Bruno Dumont. He left me a voice message on WhatsApp, and he told me how much he loved the film. He was like, 'I'm not saying that because we're going to work together. I just wanted to tell you that I was very impressed.' It was an extremely kind message.“
“Even I said to myself he's too nice“, continues Léa Seydoux. “This is the last thing we shared. Then I got a film from my agent who told me that Gaspard had had an accident, and that he was in a coma. He told me : 'I think it's very, very serious.'”
It was therefore without Gaspard that the adventure continued – and for him. Léa Seydoux told the magazine in February First that it had been out of the question for her to give up The beast. “After his disappearance, it was essential for me to do The beast, precisely towards him. But all along, I thought of Gaspard, he was there with us.“
