Loki: who is “Ouroboros”, the new favorite of Marvel fans?

Ke Huy Quan hits the screen in OB, in season 2 on Disney Plus. Producer Kevin Wright tells us more.

The duo Loki & Mobius is clearly at the center of season 2 of Loki. But Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson can now count on an improbable “sidekick” in the person of Ouroboros, aka OB, aka the TVA basement technician, played by Ke Huy Quan.

Technically Ouroboros is an employee of the agency. He has been the head of the Bureau of Reparations for centuries and centuries. The producer of LokiKevin Wright, gives us some more details about the mysterious character:

“He’s the guy who runs the VAT machine in the shadows. He imagined most of the technological innovations on which the agents rely. He’s a brilliant engineer, who is almost the only one to understand how it all works”, he describes for Première, before explaining his slightly wacky attitude:

“He’s been living as a recluse in the cave for four centuries and he’s a bit socially awkward. He’s not used to other people anymore so he doesn’t really know how to behave.”

With his little touch of madness and his infectious smile, OB quickly became a character adored by fans. The kind that steals the show from the stars of the show! What the producers very quickly understood, when they brought in Ke Huy Quan to the casting.

The actor crowned at the Oscars (Best Supporting Role) for Everything Everywhere this year has regained pride of place in Hollywood in recent months, 40 years after making his child star debut thanks to Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (he played Demi-Lune) then The Goonies (he was Data).

“Ke brought all his personality and energy to the character.” resumes Kevin Wright, who reveals that the authors very quickly wrote OB for him. “He came into production early and helped write it to make OB sound like him. And right away we knew this OB had something. Something really special.”

Not surprising, then, that the zany TVA engineer has become the darling of viewers of Loki : “As soon as we started introducing it in episode 1, we knew our fans were going to love it“, admits the producer. OB clearly has a bright future ahead of him in the Mavel Universe.
