Lolo: Dany Boon and Vincent Lacoste hate each other at Julie Delpy

The actress-director’s latest comedy returns this weekend on France 2.

This Sunday, France 2 program Lolobefore the show dedicated to cinema, Nice gesture.

This achievement of Julie Delpy succeeded where a lot of popular French comedies fail. In Lolo, we follow Violette (Delpy), a Parisian forty-something working in fashion. In thalassotherapy in Biarritz with her best friend, she meets Jean-René (Dany Boon), a modest, recently divorced computer scientist. After years of solitude, she lets herself be seduced. He joins her in the capital, trying to adapt to the Parisian microcosm in which she lives. But that’s without counting on the presence of Lolo (Vincent Lacoste), Violette’s beloved son, ready to do anything to destroy the emerging couple and maintain his place as favorite.

Julie Delpy – Lolo: “There is a form of misogyny in Hollywood”

When the film was released in 2015, Julie Delpy explained why she had chosen this actor to play her terrible son: “I wrote the role for him. Vincent is a very kind and very cultured person. When we made Skylab, he was only 17 years old and I already found him extremely professional and a good actor, without taking himself head nonetheless. I found it funny to see him in the role of a psychotic. He literally wants to eat her. It’s Freud’s famous theory… And how he projects what he is onto the men who interested in her, he tells her that Jean-René is a psychopath who wants to devour her: Jean-René becomes the big bad wolf who is going to eat his mother. Under his cool artist air, very full of himself, Lolo is still very childish, he has absolutely not cut the cord. He is a great pervert, not only was he born like that but, what’s more, she raised him very badly.”
