Mania 2024 Series: discover the full program

52 new series will be seen in Lille, from March 15 to 22, including The Three-Body Problem from Netflix or the political series by Édouard Philippe.

After a record 2023 edition, visited by 85,000 participants, Series Mania 2024 once again promises to be the big annual event on the small screen. The program for this new edition has just been revealed and it already promises something big: 52 new series from 21 countries, among 369 viewed, including 26 world premieres.

“The number of series received by the festival stabilizes around 400 from a wide variety of countries. Alongside Europe, the USA, Australia and Canada, the 2024 selection includes Taiwan, New Zealand, South Africa and even Latvia and the Czech Republic which illustrate the new maturity of productions from Eastern Europe”comments the management of Séries Mania in the press release.

Opening ceremony

In detail, the festival will be launched on Friday March 15, with a grand opening ceremony hosted by Daphné Bürki. In the process, we will discover in preview THE THREE-BODY PROBLEMa big sci-fi series from Netflix by the former showrunners of Game Of Thrones.

International competition

The Franco-American director and screenwriter Zal Batmanglij (co-creator of The O.A. and more recentlyA Murder at the End of the World) will be the president of the jury of the International Competition, composed of the German actor Malick Bauer (Sam: a Saxon), by the Franco-Argentinian actress Bérénice Bejo, by the Franco-Swedish director Charlotte Brändström (The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power), French actor and producer Sofiane Zermani (The Wages of Fear). This jury will award the Grand Prize for Best Series, the Best Screenplay Prize, the Best Actress Prize and the Best Actor Prize.

SO LONG, MARIANNE (Norway, Canada, Greece / NRK)

French competition

The French competition, judged by a jury of strange journalists, will see each other compete HOMEJACKING (OCS), with Marie Dompnier and Yannick Choirat; THE WORLD DOES NOT EXIST (Arte) with Niels Schneider; MACHINE (Arte) with Margot Bancilhon and Joeystarr; MURDER CLUB (M6) with Tiphaine Daviot; OURIKA (Prime Video) produced by Booba and A DANGEROUS FRIENDSHIP (France TV).

International Panorama

A dozen series from around the world will also be seen in the International Panorama and judged by a jury, chaired by the American writer Douglas Kennedy.

Special sessions

During the special screenings scheduled in Lille and the region, we will be able to preview the first episode of season 4 of HPIwith Audrey Fleurot present to talk about it.

We will also see MARY & GEORGEthe new British historical costume series, hosted by Julianne Moore.

As well as episodes STARSKY & HUTCHin the presence of the famous red car, the Ford Torino.

Masterclasses

Numerous meetings will take place with the public. The president of the jury, Zal BATMANGLY, the American actress Kelly RUTHERFORD (Melrose Place, Gossip Girl), the writer Douglas KENNEDY will give Masterclasses, as will Laurent LAFITTE, who was a hit last year in Tapie.

The festival village

Lots of events will take place during the week within the village, located at the Tripostal in Lille, such as signing sessions, but also a large immersive exhibition entitled L’ENVERS DU DÉCOR, which will tell the story of the hidden professions of the series.
