Martin Scorsese annoyed by Leonardo DiCaprio’s absence at the 2024 Oscars

The director of Killers of the Flower Moon asserts today in Variety that, even if there is no Oscar nomination to mark the occasion, Leo’s performance among the Osages will go down in history:
“He went so far into the complexities and contradictions of a man so weak, so malleable, who did such horrible things, but at the same time also truly loved his wife! Leo fearlessly created a true type average, mediocre. The kind of guy no one really wants to like. And that will stay!”
The filmmaker is not the only one upset. Lily Gladstonewho plays Mollie opposite Leonardo DiCaprio In Killers of the Flower Moonalso said that his parents “were upset” when they discovered that the actor was not nominated. And she also doesn’t understand: “He was the first to send me a congratulatory message, with bright confetti,” adds the actress. “I told him how annoyed we all were by his absence. My nomination is equal parts his! I couldn’t have done what I did without his generosity as an actor and as a ‘To be human.”
THE Oscars 2024 will take place on March 10 in Los Angeles.
