Matthew Perry is dead: Friends star was 54

The actor was found at his home last night in Los Angeles.

On Saturday October 28, actor Matthew Perry was found dead at his home in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles. The cause of death has not yet been revealed. The Los Angeles Times reports that Perry, 54, was found apparently drowned in his jacuzzi, but tabloid TMZ says no signs of drugs or assault were found by police.

He played the sarcastic Chandler Bing in the series Friends from 1994 to 2004, a role which earned him an Emmy nomination. Since 1997, he was the victim of various addictions (painkillers, alcohol) which had a strong impact on his life and career. In October 2022, he published his autobiography, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thingwhich quickly became a bestseller.
