Max arrives in France: the Warner platform reveals date and content

Announced for months, the arrival of the streaming network derived from HBO is finally official. Here's the detail.

Max to conquer the world. The Warner Bros. streaming platform, formerly known as HBO Max, will soon arrive in Europe – following its launch in South America last February. This week, during the Séries Mania festival in Lille, JB Perrette, President and CEO Global Streaming & Games at Warner Bros. Discovery, announced the installation of Max on the old Continent from May 21, but only in the Nordic countries, Spain and Portugal.

What date for Max in France then?
The Max platform will be available “before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games” in France, i.e. during July 2024 (exact date to come). Why the Olympics? Because Discovery owns the Eurosport channel, which will broadcast the entire Paris Olympic Games live. An ideal event to launch the platform here.

What content on Max?
The arrival of Max in France, it is the arrival of HBO in France, a sea serpent that has made series fans salivate for three decades. “The arrival of Max in France marks a decisive moment for our commitment to the public. By offering unprecedented access to a wide variety of quality content and an incomparable experience, Max is redefining the standards of streaming. Beyond Paris 2024 Olympics – included in all subscription plans, subscribers Max will have access to The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, Euphoria, True Detective: Night Country, The Regimewhile waiting for new event series like The Penguin (derived from The Batman) And Welcome to Derry (derived from That by Stephen King). The streamer will also offer original French productions, in the form of series, documentaries and streaming programs. The platform notably revealed at Séries Mania the projects A Devoted Friend with Laure Calamy and the adaptation of the book Living with our dead, by Noé Debré (Parliament). And then of course, fans will have the future series in their sights Harry Potterin development.

On the cinema side, Max will therefore have in its catalog all the films of the sorcerer's saga, but also the other Warner Bros franchises, such as Matrix, The Dark Knight and others.
On the sports side, surfing on its Eurosport, a complementary offer (in the vein of what Prime Vide offers with Ligue 1) will give access to the main international & European competitions, in particular certain Grand Slam tennis tournaments such as the French Open. Australia and the US Open, the three Grand Tours of cycling, including the Giro d'Italia, La Vuelta and the Tour de France, as well as the Tour de France Femmes, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and all the major world championships of winter sports.
