Meg Ryan returns to romantic comedy and directing with What Happens Laterin which she also plays the leading role alongside David Duchovny. The film tells the story of two ex-lovers who meet by chance in an airport. After their flight is canceled due to a storm, they find themselves stranded and can make up for lost time…
The trailer highlights all the ingredients of a 1990s rom-com: an impromptu situation, a initially difficult couple, romance and comedy… The whole film seems to focus solely on the interactions of the couple, in one and the same place, the airport. Fans will be delighted to see her again after several years of absence, especially since she is also the director of the film for the second time in her career (after Ithaca in 2015).
What Happens Later will arrive in American theaters on October 13. It does not yet have a release date in France.
