Michelle Yeoh Is a Mafia Boss in Muscular Sun Brothers Trailer

This new Netflix series looks like it could delight fans of action and martial arts.

After its rebirth (at least American) with the public and critical success of Everything Everywhere All at Once, Michelle Yeoh is the headliner of Sun Brothers, a Netflix series about the world of the Taiwanese underworld in the United States. Created by the showrunners Brad Falchuk And Byron Wuthe series tells the story of Mama Sun (Michelle Yeoh) the ruthless leader of the Jade Dragons gang, forced to protect her youngest son Bruce (Sam Song Li) whom she voluntarily kept away from the criminal world. With the help of his eldest son Charles (Justin Dog), a seasoned killer and fighter, she will have to face the two hardest struggles of her life: protecting her gang from their adversaries and teaching the innocent Bruce the way of crime.

The trailer for Sun Brothers does not reveal anything else to us: a martial arts series completely immersed in the world of Taiwanese organized crime in the United States, offering us tantalizing images of spectacular choreographed fights. Michelle Yeoh And Justin Dog seem to embody dark and violent characters which contrast with that of Sam Song Li, deliberately clumsy and out of step with his older brother and his mother. In short, there is also the promise of a comic twist around the usual family problems: crime, violence and drugs. It would have been perfect for Christmas, except that The Sun Brothers will only be available on Netflix from January 4, 2024.
