Michonne is looking for Rick in the new Walking Dead: the trailer decrypted

The trailer for the new series The Ones who Live says a lot about what awaits us. Decryption.

Finally he makes his comeback. And obviously, he hasn’t changed. Still inhabited, Sheriff Grimes has been stuck for years in the fortified base of the CRM, the famous Civic Republic Military, “the most powerful army“of this post-apo world of Walking Deadas heard in the long trailer for The Ones Who Live (below).

After being taken by Jadis during season 9, Rick is a prisoner and cannot escape. We discover in this video that he leads zombification missions for the CRM. He is not alone in this struggle, since other survivors are visibly locked up by the organization, which does not allow anyone to leave the place. The Sheriff will therefore make some friends (allies?) among the prisoners and also seems to have formed a very special bond with the enigmatic Major General Beale (played by Terry O’Quinn of Lost), who seems to believe in Rick and might try to convince him to join the ranks of his army full time.

But what is the goal of this army? Who orders it? With what ambitions? We hope that The Ones Who Live will answer these questions. The trailer already shows the military power of the CRM, which still has helicopters and missiles (!) in a world where it has become rare to find bullets to search for guns… We see that they do not hesitate not to fire on what we guess are pockets of resistance.

Groups that Michonne will, a priori, join in her search for Rick. “I’m looking for it“, announces the warrior with the katana in this trailer, who says she is going north to find him. Which would mean that Rick would be held in a city in the northeast of the country, like Boston or Buffalo. We n We don’t know anything about it yet, but we understand that nothing can stop Michonne. Not even the hordes of zombies that now populate the territory.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will be a six-episode limited series, written and produced by Scott Gimple, who is also the showrunner. It will be released on February 25, 2024 in the United States. No broadcaster in France yet.
