Mickey, the Horror Movie: The Sinister Trailer for The Return of Steamboat Willie
After being locked in the boat’s hold for 95 years, he will come out… and take revenge!
It has entered the public domain. The first Mickey I just turned 95 and American legislation now allows anyone to use their name and image! Without needing to be linked to Walt Disney Studios, it is possible to take the cult character and put it in all the sauces. Please note, this is only the original version, that of Steamboat Willie, which is now in the public domain.
But here it is already Mickey in a horror film, which moves squarely as a direct sequel to Steamboat Willie !
Indeed, at the end of the cartoon (above), we see that the sailor Mickeywho works aboard this wheelboat, has been locked up by his boss, the evil Pete, condemned to potato duty.
The pitch of the new film, The Return of Steamboat Willie, announces that Mickey has been locked away for 95 years. Now free, he wants his steamboat back…
Created in Unreal Engine by Fewture Studios, The Return of Steamboat Willie was written by Joe Smith and directed by Kai Henry. No release date yet. Watch the trailer below:
