Miles Morales in live action? A new Spider-Man would be in the pipeline
Sony Pictures would seek to cast the actor who could bring to life, in the flesh, the weaver who is already a hit in animation in the Into the Spider-Verse saga.
For now, it’s still just a rumor, but it’s got Spider-Man fans salivating: a live-action film around Miles Morales is reportedly in preparation at Sony Pictures. The studio is even in the casting phase, to try to find the actor who will bring the character from the comics to life, the other Spidey alongside Peter Parker.
Hollywood journalist Jeff Sneider reveals during the latest issue of his podcast The Hot Mic (see below) that he was aware of a scouting by Sony, aiming to recruit its next Miles Morales for a live-action film .
No other information has leaked yet, but this new rumor adds to the speculation that has been bubbling for years. Producers Amy Pascal and Avi Arad have already confirmed that the idea is on the table.
The enormous critical and commercial success of animated films Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse certainly gave ideas to Sony, which would have the idea of developing its universe Spiderman (After Venom and other Madam Web). A live film about Spider-Woman is also mentioned.
