After the documentary The Kings of Scam on Netflix, Xavier Giannoli (Lost Illusions, Originally…) tackles the carbon tax fraud affair with Silver and blood. A serial adaptation of the book of the same name by journalist Fabrice Arfi, largely inspired by real events. Almost everyone now knows the story: a handful of men managed, between 2008 and 2009, to defraud the French state out of 283 million euros, by purchasing CO2 emission quotas outside tax abroad before reselling them in France… with VAT. The difference went directly into their pockets.
Twelve episodes which embrace both the point of view of the national judicial customs service and the scams. In the cast, we will find Vincent Lindon, Niels Schneider, Ramzy Bedia and Judith Chemla. Broadcast on Canal+ is scheduled for October. Watch the first teaser:
