Julian Fellowes will he succeed in hooking the fans of Downton Abbey with season 2 of The Gilded Age ? After a somewhat sluggish first season, the prestigious historical series must put more madness, more drama, in this sequel and this is visibly the slope that this new chapter will follow, judging by the trailer (here -below).

“The second season of The Gilded Age begins on Easter morning 1883. News that Bertha Russell’s application for a box at the Academy of Music has been rejected. Bertha will thus challenge Miss Astor and the old system and work not only to establish herself in this high society, but also to potentially play a leading role in it.” promises the official synopsis.

Meanwhile, her rich husband, “George Russell, is waging his own battle against a growing union at his Pittsburgh steel mill. Across the street, in the Brook home, Marian continues her journey to find her way in this world by secretly teaching at a girls’ school while, to everyone’s surprise, Ada has a new suitor. Of course, Agnès doesn’t approve of any of this…”

Season 2 of The Gilded Agein eight episodes, will be broadcast on Sunday October 29 on HBO and in France via the Warner Pass on Prime Video.
