Netflix teases the sequel to a cult episode for season 7 of Black Mirror

See you in 2025 to find the entire crew (or almost) of the USS Callister.

Captain Robert Daly (Jesse Plemmons) of Space Fleet leads the crew of his starship, the USS Callister, with a firm and fair fist. The captain and his crew track their enemy, the barbarian Valdack (Billy Magnussen), across the galaxy. In the real world, Robert Daly is the creator of the online video game Infinity, developed by the company he co-founded, Callister Inc., but his own employees view him with contempt. A new employee, Nanette Cole (Christin Milioti), takes her first steps at Callister, fascinated by Daly's coding skills.

At the very end of 2017, USS Callister caused a sensation, to the point that just a few days after its broadcast, some of its creators revealed that discussions were underway with Netflix to develop a spin-off of Black Mirror from this story largely inspired by Star Trek.

Eventually, USS Callister will have a sequel, within season 7 of Black Mirror, which the platform has just made official for 2025, specifying that it will be one of the six episodes ordered from Charlie Brooker and his authors.

Will the cast be back? Remember that Jimmi Simpson, Michaela Coel and Aaron Paul were also there – vocally for the latter.

The announcement is accompanied by a pitch for USS Callister 2but watch out for spoilers : it is intended for readers who saw its first part during season 4 of Black Mirror.

“Robert Daly is dead, we read in the press release announcing the 7th season of the hit series, but for the crew of the USS Callister, the problems have only just begun.” There is therefore little chance that Jesse Plemmons will return. Unless ? After all, Black Mirror is a series that works in part on writing stunning twists, so on paper, anything is possible!

Will Toby Haynes also be back to direct this sequel? As early as 2018, he explained that he really wanted to come back: “I talked about it with the producer, Louise Sutton, and she came up with a brilliant idea for a spin-off! Yes, I would really like to work on a series USS Callister. After all, it's probably one of the best space opera pilots ever made. And I did it! So yes, I would like to see that!”
