The creator of Punisher at the helm of Spider-Man Noir

Nicolas Cage to star in Prime Video's Spider-Man Noir series

The platform officially orders this live action version, more or less derived from the “Into the Spider-Verse” saga.

After the rumor, it's official: Nicolas Cage will indeed give life to Spider-Man Blackthe character he voiced in the original version, in the 2018 animated hit at the cinema, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (New Generation in French)

The story will chronicle the life of an aging, down-on-his-luck private detective (played by Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city's one and only superhero, in a film noir atmosphere. However, he will not be Peter Parker, which will mark a significant change compared to the comics where the character of Spider-Man Black is a black version of Peter Parker.

Oren Uzielbehind the film Mortal Kombat of 2021, will be the writer and executive producer of the series, alongside Steve Lightfoot (The Punisher). Harry Bradbeer (Killing Eve) should direct the first two episodes.

Appearing for the first time in 2009 in the comics, the character Spider-Man Noir was especially noticed in the 2019 Oscar-winning animated film. Phil Lord and Chris Miller will also be executive producers.

Note that this is the first time in his long career that, Nicolas Cage60, accepts a role on television.
