Nicole Kidman in Expats: first images from the Prime Video series

Just before its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, Expats unfolds. The new prestige series from Amazon Studios, signed Lulu Wangdelivers his first images.

These photos provide an overview of the entire cast, led by Nicole Kidman featured (she is also an executive producer), who had previously worked with the streamer on the series Nine Perfect Strangers.

The story will follow a group of expats who pull together against the vibrant and tumultuous backdrop of Hong Kong 2014. The series focuses on three American women – Margaret, Hilary and Mercy – whose lives intersect after a sudden family tragedy . “The series questions privilege and explores what happens when the line between victimhood and guilt becomes blurred.” teases the synopsis.

Expats is written, directed and created by Wang, based on the bestselling novel by Janice YK Lee.

Sarayu Blue, Ji-young Yoo, Brian Tee, Jack Huston complete the cast.

Expats will be available to stream in early 2024 on Prime Video.
