Night Swim: You’ll Never Dare to Swim in a Pool Again (Trailer)

Wyatt Russell stars in this Blumhouse horror film, produced by James Wan.

While the trailer forImaginary came out a few days ago and Five Nights at Freddy’s is still in theaters, Blumhouse continues its momentum by revealing this week the enigmatic and oppressive trailer for Night Swim. Adapted from the short film of the same name by Rod Blackhurst And Bryce McGuiredating from 2014, the film tells the story of a peaceful family including father Ray (Wyatt Russell) is a former American football player who had to give up his career due to a degenerative disease.

As he moves into a new house with his wife Eve (Kerry Condon) and their two children, Ray is convinced that the pool will be perfect for his rehabilitation and hopes to return to his career one day. Unfortunately, the new arrivals will awaken a demonic entity sleeping in the pool. The directors of the original short film have returned to the script for the feature and Bryce McGuire realizes it. The film is produced by James Wan (Insidious, Saw, Conjuring), a close collaborator of Jason Blumthe founder of Blumhouse, since its beginnings.

The trailer remains quite mysterious about how the plot will unfold, barely introducing the characters but immediately focusing on the main element: the swimming pool. The trailer promises a horrific scene playing with this very particular and restricted space rather associated with pleasure but which here transforms into a real instrument of torture.

In just a few years, the Blumhouse company has managed to build a real little horror empire, oscillating between B series (Megan, Five Nights at Freddy’s), cult films (Paranormal Activity, American Nightmare) and critical success (Get Out, BlacKkKlansman). Night Swim will be released in theaters on January 3, 2024.
