Ryan Reynolds mocks Paul Rudd in clip from Deadpool & Wolverine

No post-credits scene in Deadpool & Wolverine?

Ryan Reynolds makes fun of “film endings which are just a big advertisement for the next episode…”

Ryan Reynolds did he just announce that there would be no post-credits scene at the end of Deadpool & Wolverine ? Or is he once again in the process of “troll” Marvel fans? It's sometimes difficult to know with this actor who so likes to break the fourth wall to speak directly to the audience…

In the last teaser from Shawn Levy's blockbuster (Night at the Museum, Free Guy…) hides a QR code leading to this short video of Ryan Reynolds in full audio recording of “disclaimers”. In 37 seconds, it teases at lightning speed what fans of Deadpool and Wolverine can expect… or not, in the process denying rumors about the super-film produced by Kevin Feige.

Halfway through his message, he bursts out:

“With this film, we are going to take a step aside from Marvel's habits regarding post-credits scenes. Because if you haven't understood yet, they are there solely to advertise the next film in the series. franchise, which will itself end with a big ad for the next blockbuster, etc.”

Deadpool and Wolverine closer than ever in new Deadpool 3 teaser

Did Ryan Reynolds just announce to fans of Dead Pool that this third part would simply not have a post-credits scene? It would be surprising, as those of the first two parts were well thought out, playing precisely with this tradition established since Iron Manin 2008. Especially in David Leitch's second opus, where Reynolds could fully play the “meta” : thanks to the technologies allowing Cable (Josh Brolin) to travel in the past, Wade saw himself in the possibility of preventing his young version from embodying Green Lantern, but also Deadpool in the first spin-off of Wolverine, in which his character was rather poorly brought out, and mute during almost all of his scenes. A height for “The Merc with a Mouth” !

Deadpool 2's post-credits scenes are exceptional

Is this exit of the main actor of the trilogy a way of making it clear that Deadpool & Wolverine will indeed be the final part of his saga? So the film wouldn't need a post-credits scene if neither he nor Hugh Jackman returns in a fourth opus?

We will only be able to be sure of this when it is released, scheduled for July 24.

No, Marvel didn't invent the post-credits scene
