Olivia Colman returns in season 2 of The Night Manager

And with her, many other recurring actors from the first season.

Released in 2016, the first season of The Night Manager was critically acclaimed and awarded three Golden Globes. Seven years later, just as fans were beginning to no longer believe it, the BBC and Prime Video announced the renewal of the British spy series for a second and possibly a third season.

Tom Hiddleston, who plays the main role, will come back and already five new faces are part of the cast of the next season: Diego Calva (Babylon), Camila Morrone (Daisy Jones and The Six), Indira Varma (Game Of Thrones), Hayley Squires (Beau Is Afraid) and Paul Chahidi (The Serpent Queen).

To this pretty list, is now added the name by Olivia Colman (The Crown), reverts to Angela Burr, intelligence agent and recruiter for Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston). News that delights fans, especially since for this role, the British actress won the Golden Globe for best supporting actress in 2017. With her, Noah Jupe (Without a sound) as Danny Roper, Michael Nardone as Frisky, Alistair Petrie (Sex Education) as Sandy Langbourne and Douglas Hodge as Rex Mayhem.

The first season of The Night Manager followed Jonathan Pine, a former British soldier recruited by Angela Burr to investigate the supposed alliance of an intelligence agency with a dangerous arms dealer, Richard Roper. Tom Hiddelston also shared the bill with Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown) who, at the time, did not know that his playing partner was very well known.

This season 2 will take place eight years after the events of the first season and, even if the plot is not yet specified, it will be completely new because the novel from which the series is based, The Night Manager by John le Carré, covered the entirety of season 1. No release date is yet known.

The Night Manager is available on Prime Video in France.
