Patrick Duffy says goodbye to Suzanne Somers, his wife in Our Beautiful Family
The actor pays tribute to the woman who played his other half on screen for a decade.
They lived under the same roof for 160 episodes. Patrick Duffy was Carol’s husband in Our Beautiful Family. In mourning after the disappearance of the actress, he today pays her a vibrant tribute.
“Like everyone who knew her, I was stunned yesterday to learn the news of the death of my dear and deep friend Suzanne,” wrote Patrick Duffy in a statement to People. “For a brief moment, I couldn’t believe it. But Suzanne died. She has flowed through my life beautifully on this stage of her never-ending journey. My task now is to stand by the side of the road while she continues on her way.”
In the process, he says that the two were still very close, twenty years after the end of Our Beautiful Family :
“I will miss our phone calls, our emails, our visits, our meals and our laughter. But also the deep exchanges we had or our stupid and frivolous discussions. My conversations with her will now take place solely through my daily Buddhist practice (…) This is the painful beauty of our current human reality. I send all my strength to her husband Alan and (son) Bruce and his family. And Suzanne, when the stone of your life fell into our pond, it generated so many ripples. So thanks.”
