Peaky Blinders in an anti-gay campaign: the creator of the series is furious

Peaky Blinders creator has almost finished the film’s script

Filming is expected to begin in mid-2024.

From September 2013 to April 2022, the world got to know the most stylish gangsters of cinema and television: the Peaky (fooking) Blinders. The event series available in full on Netflix traces in six seasons the rise of a Birmingham gang after the First World War, led by the charismatic Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy).

After season six, Steven Knight had announced that the series finale would be told in a film rather than in a seventh season. Never mind, but where is it? The screenwriter responds on Radio Times : “I’m just working on the final details at the moment. I sit at the keyboard and write” he declares. He adds that, with the script being finished soon, filming should start in 2024: “The plan would be to start filming in the middle of next year.

Peaky Blinders, 10 years already!

A little more patience, but it’s coming soon, and above all, it’s on very good track. Steven Knight does not hide his satisfaction with the result: “It’s a bit like being in a dream. I sit down and it comes by itself, then I read it again and I say to myself, ‘It’s pretty good.’”

There is still no specific release date for the film which will conclude the Shelby saga, which leaves us time to binge the previous six seasons again… By order of the Peaky Blinders!

It remains to be seen what Cillian Murphy thinks. Last December, the Oppenheimer actor responded rather evasively to the question…
