Pirates of the Caribbean would like to bring back Johnny Depp

“We talked,” assures producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

A few weeks ago, Jerry Bruckheimer said he wanted to start the saga from scratch Pirates of the Caribbean, with a new cast. But obviously, he still has in the back of his mind the hope of bringing back Johnny Depp and Jack Sparrow, in what would no longer be a reboot but rather a Pirates of the Caribbean 6.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight this week, the producer says:

I adore Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean. If it were up to me, of course he would come back! He is a great actor and a good friend. We talked and obviously we discussed this, so we'll see what happens…”

During his trial against Amber Heard, the actor had his lawyer tell him that he would not return to play Jack Sparrow, “even against 300 million dollars and a million alpacas”. But his position has since changed, according to the American press. It remains to be seen whether Disney will also want to re-engage Johnny Depp or if the studio will prefer to start everything from scratch… as has been planned for several months.

During the same interview, Jerry Bruckheimer mentions the case of Top Gun 3 and explains that no script exists yet. “I haven't read the script for Top Gun 3 yet. We're working on it at the moment.”assures the producer.
