Quentin Dupieux will open the 77th Cannes Film Festival with The Second Act

He succeeds Maïwenn and his Jeanne du Barry. Quentin Dupieux will have the honor of opening the 77th Cannes Film Festival, on May 14, with his new film, The Second Act. Presented Out of Competition as a world premiere on the Croisette, this four-part comedy was designed as a mise en abyme around the actor's work.

Léa Seydoux, Vincent Lindon And Louis Garrel will take their first steps into the wacky world of Quentin Dupieuxand will find a regular, Raphaël Quenard (Mandibles, Smoking makes you cough And Yannick). The whole troupe should walk the opening red carpet and climb the steps of the palace.

Here is the official synopsis of the Second Act : “Florence wants to introduce David, the man she is madly in love with, to her father Guillaume. But David is not attracted to Florence and wants to get rid of her by throwing her into the arms of his friend Willy. The four characters end up in a restaurant in the middle of nowhere.”

The Second Act will be released at the same time, this May 14, in theaters throughout France.

The Opening Ceremony of the 77th Cannes Film Festival will be broadcast live on France Télévisions and Brut. Camille Cottin will be the mistress of ceremonies.
