“Quickly, take out my latex nipples!” George Clooney back as Batman?
The actor died laughing at the idea of returning to play the character. Not tomorrow, not ever!
With all the multiverses which have animated the superheroic sagas in recent years, will we see again George Clooney in the skin of Batman ? His improbable cameo in The Flash would he have given ideas to DC?
Obviously not! And the simple idea makes the actor whose career almost exploded in flight because of the horrible Batman & Robin of 1997, the worst film on Dark Knight never produced, for a thousand and one reasons, starting with this improbable costume… So when Entertainment Tonight asked him the question, George Clooney laughs :
“Coming back to play Batman? That’s exactly what I was telling myself! There was such a clamor from the fans for me to come back as Batman… Huge popular support! So I said to the studio: Quick , take out my latex nipples!”
Taking the joke a little further : “The studio asked me if we could do without the latex nipples this time. But no! That wouldn’t really be my Batman, would it?”
George Clooney obviously refers to the nipples that stick out from her costume Batman which caused a lot of talk at the time and which largely contributed to ridicule his version of the vigilante. So no, he will not return in a sequel to Batman & Robin. Not today nor tomorrow. Never !
