Rick, Negan, Maggie, Daryl, Morgan… A huge Walking Dead crossover in sight?

“I want to say… yes?” Scott Gimple obviously has a big reunion in mind for the band.

For several years, the saga Walking Dead has been segmented into lots of small derivative series. On the one hand Morgan is in the Midwest, while Daryl visits France, Maggie and Negan haunt New York and Michonne tries to save Rick from the CRM… It’s been years since they last crossed paths in this apocalyptic America. So when is the big reunion? Scott M. Gimpledirector of the franchise, admits to TVLine that he is seriously thinking about it:

“I dream of merging all of this… And I laid a few stones in this direction, to find this path again.”

He pursues : “I arrived in Walking Dead in season 2 as a fan of the comics and as a fan of the show, and even then I had these dreams, these wishes, these things that I wanted to do in the story. Doing a Rick and Michonne spin-off was one of them. I even discreetly allude to it in “Clear” (episode 12 of season 3). Even Danai (Gurira) said to me on set at the time: ‘I see what you’re trying to do…’

Scott Gimple doesn’t yet know if he will be “able” to bring everyone together one day. “The thing is that you have to be flexible, you have to have a whole network, paths that branch off and that you can rotate so that they come together. Doing something like an Avengers: Endgame type crossover event is complicated to put together. We never know exactly when and how this might happen, for various reasons. On the one hand we have Dead Citya vibrant show, Daryl Dixon also, and then The Ones Who Live is strong ! But I’m building these pathways and there could be all kinds of forks along the way that will change their trajectories… So I want to say… yes?!”

However, nothing is officially planned in this direction at the moment.
