Ripley: Andrew Scott is the star of a new Netflix limited series (trailer)

Netflix has just published the teaser for an upcoming prestige mini-series with a sober but immediately evocative title: Ripley. This is the Ripley you know, Tom by his first name. The series is inspired by the novels written by Patricia Highsmith, telling how Tom Ripley usurps the identity of a rich heir exiled in Italy whom he is supposed to bring back to the United States. Instead, he commits the irreparable and takes the life of another.

Unlike its previous adaptations Full Sun with Alain Delon Then The Talented Mr. Ripley with Matt Damonthis is a black and white version whose teaser announces a particularly dark and twisted atmosphere. Andrew Scottthe rising star of Fleabag and soon on display Without ever knowing us, gives his features to the character of Ripley for a mini-series which, according to Netflix’s pitch, will adapt the complete series of five novels, where the first two films only included the first volume Mister Ripley.

The series is created by Steven Zaillian (The King’s Fools, The Night of) And Andrew Scott is accompanied by Johnny Flynn, Dakota Fanning And John Malkovich. The series will be available from April 4, 2024 on Netflix.
