Robert Downey Jr spectacular in new trailer for The Sympathizer for HBO

The Oppenheimer actor will play several roles in this production by Park Chan-wook.

This will be one of the spring event series: The Sympathizer will be a great spy drama, signed Park Chan-wook. A co-production between HBO and A24 where it should shine Robert Downey Jr. who will play several characters!

Adapted from the Pulitzer-winning novel of the same name by Viet Thanh Nguyen, The Sympathizer “is a spy series coupled with an intercultural satire that follows the trials of a Franco-Vietnamese communist spy exiled in Los Angeles at the end of the Vietnam War, forced to return to service.

The real leading role in this spy story will be Hoa Xuandewho will play a Franco-Vietnamese communist living in America, during the last days of the Vietnam War, while he is in exile in the United States…

Park Chan-wook And Don McKellar are co-writers and executive producers.

The mini-series The Sympathizer will be available on April 15 with the Warner Pass on Prime Video in France.
