Emerald Fennell returns with a psychological thriller set in an aristocratic English mansion.
Emerald Fennell makes his return with Saltburnhis second feature film after the highly acclaimed Promising Young Woman. We follow the character of Oliver (played by Barry Keoghan) a young student from a modest background who cannot integrate into Oxford University. He falls in love with his charismatic comrade Félix (Jacob Elordi) who invites him to spend the summer in the immense mansion belonging to his aristocratic family. Young Oliver then enters a world from which he will not emerge unscathed.
From the first images of the trailer, there is no doubt that the film will be dark and focused on the turmoil surrounding the character of Felix and his family. Emerald Fennell brought the same care to the image as on his previous feature film. An artistic choice which accentuates the paradox between the beauty of Felix and his world and the darkness that it conceals and which will resurface to the great dismay of poor Oliver. Alongside them, we will find in particular Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl, I Care a Lot).
