Season 2 of Mr & Mrs Smith officially signed… with a new couple?

A priori, it will be without Donald Glover or Maya Erskine.

New couple, new missions. Prime Video has just officially signed on for the sequel to Mr & Mrs Smith. A season 2 which should be carried by a new duo of John and Jane.

Donald Glover And Maya Erskine will not return, a priori, even if Glover is still credited as co-creator and executive producer of the series alongside Francesca Sloane, who will return as showrunner.

“We are delighted to announce that a second season is in the works,” announces Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios. “The success of the first season, with its incredibly modern and sexy reimagining of the original film, is a testament to the brilliant creators Donald Glover and Francesa Sloane. We are proud to bring you another season filled with unforgettable journeys and new adventures.”

Obviously, the series aims to become an anthology around the Smith program, which could feature a new duo in each new season. It remains to be seen who the new ones will be Mr & Mrs Smith from season 2…
