Sisters in Arms – Caroline Fourest: “It’s a crazy story, but it’s a true story!”

We knew the journalist, the polemicist, the documentary director… we will now have to reckon with the director Caroline Fourest.

In October 2019, Caroline Fourest took the camera as one takes weapons, without qualms, and succeeded, with his first production, a real action film. Feminine, certainly, but far from the hyper feminist one might have expected. Below we share his interview, filmed on the occasion of the theatrical release of Sisters in Arms. The film will return this evening on France 2.

There is in Sisters in Arms all the Caroline Fourest media that we know, but not only that. With this story of two young French women who join an international brigade that sets out to fight alongside Kurdish fighters, the director delivers not only the anti-jihadist pamphlet (and Western converts) that was expected of her, but above all a film of jubilant action where the women are the ones carrying the guns.
