This is the very first feature film by Jason Yu, who is none other than Bong Joon-ho’s former assistant.
Sleep puts the spotlight on the night terror of a couple exposed to the darkness of a father’s sleepwalking attacks. This phenomenon gives way to an alter that is worrying to say the least: a dark silhouette threatens the couple’s newborn. The young mother won’t sleep a wink all night!
Jason Yu tries his hand at directing with this first horror feature film, presented at Critics’ Week in May 2023. The budding director sets a tone, possibly inspired by his observation of the filmmaker Bong Joon-hofor whom he worked as an assistant.
In the cast of this nightmare: Yu-mi Jung, seen in Last Train to Busanand Sun-kyun Lee, insolent Mr. Park from Parasitewho recently died.
Sleep will be released on February 21, 2024 in theaters and competes in the feature film category of the Gérardmer 2024 international fantasy festival. Prepare to spend sleepless nights…
