She seems very far away, the “soccer mom” of Modern Family ! Sofia Vergara will be Griselda for Netflix, a drug “godmother” not spared by life. A role that required long hours of makeup and an impressive physical transformation for the star actress, who recounts her metamorphosis in this new video posted online by Netflix.

“I had an incredible hair and makeup team who did a crazy job creating this character that was set in the world of 70s and 80s Miami. Having a perfect look was very important to me because I needed to disappear. I didn’t want anyone to think about me or my role as Gloria Pritchett (on Modern Family). I wanted to get inside Griselda’s head and really understand her mentality, where she was coming from” entrusts Sofia Vergara.

The six episodes of Griselda are directed by Andrés Baiz. It will be released on January 25 on Netflix.
