Star Trek Discovery bows out in moving trailer

Paramount+ will see us on April 4 for the latest adventures of Michael Burnham and his team.

“We had quite an adventure. But, everything has an end”. It's on this sentence from the captain Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) that Paramount opens the trailer for the fifth and final season of Star Trek Discovery. A trailer that fans were impatiently awaiting, the release of the last part of the series, initially planned for 2023 having been postponed to this year.

If the first images presented by the studio at the end of last year showed Burnham And book grappling with a mysterious creature, this time, we learn a little more about the ultimate quest of the heroes of the USS Discovery. Between two emotional sequences recalling the bonds that unite the members of the crew, the trailer quickly reveals the main issue of the season: a clue “very precious” linked to power “immense” and around which chases and epic battles against new helmeted enemies that we see briefly are structured.

Images which leave the mystery surrounding the nature of this power, but which promise spectacular farewells performed by the key actors of the series: Sonequa Martin-Green (Michael Burnham), Doug Jones (Saru), Mary Wiseman (Sylvia Tilly), David Ajala (Cleveland “Book” Booker), Anthony Rapp (Paul Stamets), Wilson Cruz (Hugh Culber)…

With its diverse cast, the series was able to conquer the hearts of fans, opening a new chapter for the franchise created by Gene Roddenberry in the 1960s. The showrunners Alex Kurtzman And Michelle Paradise had sent a letter to the “Disco family” early last year, saying “be forever grateful to have been able to share this incredible adventure” with her.

But Trekkies rest assured, this universe has not finished being developed by Paramount, notably with a new spin-off around the Starfleet academy and with the production of Star Trek: Section 31 with Michelle Yeoh.

The fifth and final season of Star Trek Discovery will be available on April 4 on Paramount +.
