Star Wars: Donald Glover fights to impose his vision of Lando
“At this point in my career, I know when something is going to be good…”
Donald Glover to reprise the role of Lando Calrissian in an upcoming film Star Wars, dedicated to Han Solo’s cult sidekick. A role that he quickly played in the film Soloin 2018.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the rap star, Mr & Mrs Smith and also Atlanta and also Community ensures that he will have a certain control over the project, allowing a more singular vision:
“At this point in my career, I know when something is going to be good. Because you really have to fight the industry to get your paw on a franchise of this magnitude. It’s not like I hate the industry. But now I feel like I have enough control. And maybe I’ll be described as a big control freak… but at the same time, control allows the vision to be unique .And if the vision is special, then people want to see it more!”
let’s remember that Lando was first supposed to be a series for Disney Plus, by screenwriter Justin Simien (Dear White People). The project finally turned into a film. It has not yet received the green light to go into production.
The film Lando does not yet have a release date.
