Starsky and Hutch in mourning: David Soul is dead
The one who played the blond guy in the duo was 80 years old.
He will forever be remembered as Detective Kenneth “Hutch” Hutchinson from the series Starsky and Hutch. David Soul has just died. He was 80 years old.
His wife Helen Snell confirms: “ He shared his many extraordinary gifts with the world as an actor, singer, storyteller, creative artist and dear friend. His smile, his laugh and his passion for life will be remembered by many people whose lives he touched.“
The official cause of death has not been announced, but Snell says her husband is dead.after a valiant battle for life in the loving company of his family“, which suggests that he succumbed to an illness.
It was in the 1970s that David Soul became a star. After playing Joshua Bolt in the western One hundred girls to marry on the small screen it appears in Pinball, Star Trek Then Arabesque and finally landed in 1975 the role of Ken in Starsky and Hutch. A cop job that he kept for 4 seasons, alongside Paul Michael Glaser (Starsky).
David Soul continued his acting career until the 2010s, notably appearing in The Farewell affairthe French film by Christian Carion with Guillaume Canet and Emir Kusturica.
