Station 19 canceled! The series will end after season 7

It’s a strange week for firefighters Station 19. While they have just returned to filming (after the strike), the American channel ABC has decided to cancel the spin-off of Grey’s Anatomy. Series Station 19 will end at the end of season 7, which will be broadcast next year. The May 2024 finale will therefore be the last episode of the emergency series. This will allow time for producers to “to create a suitable ending”, according to ABC, which explains : “For seven seasons, Station 19 was a highlight of ABC programming thanks to Shonda and Betsy’s incredible vision, beloved characters and compelling storytelling. We still have a lot to look forward to in the final season, including celebrating the show’s 100th episode.”

Nevertheless, the blow is hard for Jaina Lee Ortizwho reacted on Instagram: “I’m still digesting the news…”

Shonda Rhimesthe co-creator, says to herself “grateful for this unforgettable series (…) Thank you for the magic, the moments and the memories.”

The season 7 finale of Station 19 will begin next Thursday, March 14, the same day as season 20 of Grey’s Anatomywhich should not be the last of the medical show.
