Suicide Squad by the director of Jujutsu Kaisen: here is the teaser for the Japanese animated series

Suicide Squad is modernized into a crazy animated series, where the Joker and Harley Quinn travel the multiverse.

This is a very attractive program, proposed by WIT Studio (The attack of the Titans, Ranking of Kings), with the helm of production Eri Osada (Jujutsu Kaisen), when written by Tappei Nagatsuki & Eiji Umehara (Re:Zero), with characters designed by Akira Amano (Deranged Detective).

The project was announced last July during Anime Expo 2023. Until then, a few visual samples had seen the light of day (in order of visuals): Harley Quinn, King Shark, Clayface , Deadshot and Peacemaker.

It must be said that DC seems determined to conquer the Asian market – already with Batman Ninja – the choice to adapt Suicide Squad in Japanese anime is a major challenge, carried at arm’s length by Warner Bros. Japan who is committed to (greatly) increasing his popularity when the series is broadcast.

On social networks, the studio published a teaser where we understand that the duo Harley Quinn and Joker will sow trouble in various universes. Yes, since “isekai” is a subgenre of Japanese animation, featuring characters in a fantastic diegesis whose plot mainly revolves around a character transported, trapped or reincarnated in a parallel universe (another Multiverse story).

Warner Bros. Japan meet on December 1, 2023 for a live-stream presented by the actor Takehito Koyasu (Japanese voice of the Joker in the film Suicide Squad). The live stream will begin at 11 a.m. here, and during this event the official broadcast date should be announced.
