Suits is coming back! A new series validated, it will take place in Los Angeles

Will Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Rick Hoffman or Meghan Markle make a return?

It is not a surprise : Suits is back! The legal series is extraordinarily popular in the United States. The old legal drama with Meghan Markle, completed in 2019, is a hit on Netflix (and on Peacock) to the point of having been the most streamed series across the Atlantic in 2023. All categories combined. Even stronger, Suits broke a record held, since confinement, by The Office.

So NBCUniversal doesn’t want to miss the boat and has just ordered Suits: LA, a new spin-off series. Not a season 10 of Suits, but a spin-off which, as its name suggests, will move from the east coast to the west coast, taking place in Los Angeles. Production is expected to begin at the end of March in Vancouver.

The new iteration will follow Ted Black, a former New York federal prosecutor, who reinvented himself by representing Los Angeles’ most powerful clients. “His business is at a crisis point, and to survive, he must assume a role he has held with contempt throughout his career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalty to Ted and between them as they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives” reveals the synopsis.

He is the creator of Suits, Aaron Korsh, who is still writing and at the origin of the project. And besides that ? What does this have to do with the original?

For the moment, there is no indication that Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Rick Hoffman, Meghan Markle, Gina Torres or Sarah Rafferty will be there. And at the same time, we say to ourselves that a new Suits, without them, it may have difficulty functioning. Remember that a first spin-off of Suitsin Chicago, titled Pearson and with Gina Torres as a solo star, had failed spectacularly in 2019. The real good move would certainly be to manage to bring back Meghan Markleeven if it seems impossible today.

For the moment, no name has leaked from the casting and we don’t even know yet who will play this Ted Black.

Suits: LA will be seen in 2025.
