While Vin Diesel & co are currently filming the live action version, here it is again Moana in cartoon! Walt Disney Animation Studios has just announced Moana 2, sequel to the 2016 classic. And not for long. It’s due tomorrow!
Moana 2 must in fact be released in cinemas on Wednesday November 27, 2024!

According to Hollywood ReporterUnfortunately, Lin-Manuel Miranda will not return for the soundtrack, the music now being composed by Abigail Barlow, Emily Bear and the duo Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina, already present on the first part.
It was Bob Iger himself who announced the news last night. The CEO of the Walt Disney Company explains that “Moana remains an incredibly popular franchise. And we can’t wait to tell you more about Moana and Maui when Moana 2 will be released in theaters in November.” Following Moana was supposed to be a series, but Bob Iger was so impressed by the footage that he decided it would be a movie, says Variety.
After a complicated year 2023, the studio needs to relaunch itself and is obviously banking on sequels. Toy Story 5, Frozen 3, Vice Versa 2 as well as Zootopia 2 are also coming, in the months and years to come.
